photo.jpg.scaled.500 I love food. I come from a Bengali family and grew up in the cultural melting pot of Bombay. Being Bengali, I have a sweet tooth. Infact, it is a miracle, if miracles happen, that I don’t have diabetes yet. Half my extended family does.

Since an early age, I have been very interested in all cuisines. My favorites ranged from the rich and fatty Punjabi food to the spicy Goan fish curries. Soon, I developed a cast iron tongue strong enough to handle the Maharashtrian spices and complement my sweet tooth.

I primarily cook Indian food at home. I also like to dine out. I take pleasure in eating simple foods. Sharing my food related experiences with friends on facebook and twitter, I decided to write about what I eat.

My goal is to influence people to try out Indian food in their own homes. Indian cooking can get spicy but home cooking, especially Bengali cooking rarely does. Either home or restaurant, most Indian cooking is very flavorful and aromatic. There are also a ton of recipes for vegetarians and vegans.
